Specialized Pilot Training in Colorado
Instrument proficiency checks, multi-engine instruction, transition, proficiency, and mountain flying training built on real operational experience. For certificated pilots who already fly and want to fly better, safer, and with more confidence.
Training With an Operational Focus
Training at Summit Wings is led by Adam Lendi, an active Gold Seal Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI) on Colorado’s Front Range who currently flies turbine aircraft in Part 135 charter operations. Every session focuses on the habits professional crews use: thorough briefings, standard procedures, sound judgment, and honest debriefs.
Sessions are one-on-one and built around your aircraft, your mission, and your goals.
Instrument Proficiency Checks (IPC) in Colorado
Regain or keep instrument currency through an IPC flown to the standard, with practical work on approaches, holds, and real-world IFR decision-making in Colorado’s terrain and weather.

- Approaches, holding, and partial-panel / abnormal scenarios
- Single-pilot IFR workload and automation management
- Debrief with clear next steps

Instruction from a Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) with real multi-engine operating experience, for multi-engine ratings, transitions, and recurrent training.
- Engine-out procedures and performance, including high density altitude considerations
- Systems and aircraft-specific operations
- Recurrent and insurance-driven training
Aircraft Transition Training
Moving into a new airplane, whether higher performance, more complex, more advanced avionics, or simply new to you, is one of the highest-risk times in a pilot’s flying.
- Systems, performance, and limitations for your specific aircraft
- Normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures
- Avionics and automation management
- Checklists and flows you can rely on
- Preparation to meet owner-pilot insurance training requirements
Training is offered in aircraft within Adam’s ratings, experience, and insurance approval. Picking up a newly purchased aircraft? In-aircraft training can also be combined with an aircraft ferry flight. Have a question about your specific airframe? Call or send an inquiry for details and a quote.

Mountain Flying Training in Colorado
Colorado’s terrain demands specific knowledge. Mountain flying instruction covers density altitude, mountain weather and winds, route planning, high-elevation airports, and how to decide when not to go. It can be added to any training program.
Is This Training Right for You?
Summit Wings’ training is for pilots who already hold a certificate. We do not offer primary flight training. All training is quoted on inquiry, and aircraft arrangements are discussed when you call. Learn more about Adam’s background.
